Battle of Sexes 15 - Men are From Mars...

We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side.

1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us griping about you leaving it down.

2. Birthdays, Valentines, and Anniversaries are not quests to see if we can find the perfect present yet again!

3. Sometimes we are not thinking about you. Live with it.

4. Sunday = sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

5. Don't cut your hair. Ever. Long hair is always more attractive than short hair. One of the big reasons guys fear getting married is that married women always cut their hair, and by then you're stuck with her.

6. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

7. Crying is blackmail.

8. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

9. We don't remember dates. Mark birthdays and anniversaries on a calendar. Remind us frequently beforehand.

10. Most guys own three pairs of shoes - tops. What makes you think we'd be any good at choosing which pair, out of thirty, would look good with your dress?

11. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

12. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

13. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.

14. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.

15. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us. We refuse to answer.

16. If something we said can be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

17. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

18. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

19. Christopher Columbus did not need directions, and neither do we.

20. The relationship is never going to be like it was the first two months we were going out. Get over it. And quit whining to your girlfriends.

21. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

22. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

23. We are not mind readers and we never will be. Our lack of mind-reading ability is not proof of how little we care about you.

24. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

25. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.

26. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine. Really.

27. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as navel lint, the shotgun formation, or monster trucks.

28. You have enough clothes.

29. You have too many shoes.

30. Foreign films are best left to foreigners. (Unless it's Bruce Lee or some war flick where it doesn't really matter what they're saying anyway.)

31. It is neither in your best interest or ours to take the quiz together. No, it doesn't matter which quiz.

32. I am in shape. ROUND is a shape.

33. Thank you for reading this; Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight, but did you know we really don't mind that, it's like camping.

Kind Loyar

One afternoon, a wealthy lawyer was riding in the back of his limousine when he saw two men eating grass by the road side. He ordered his driver to stop and he got out to investigate.

"
Why are you eating grass?" he asked one man.

"
We don't have any money for food." the poor man replied.

"
Oh, come along with me then."

"
But sir, I have a wife with two children!"

"
Bring them along! And you, come with us too!", he said to the other man.

"
But sir, I have a wife with six children!" the second man answered.

"
Bring them as well!"

They all climbed into the car, which was no easy task, even for a car as large as the limo. Once underway, one of the poor fellows says, "
Sir, you are too kind. Thank you for taking all of us with you."

The lawyer replied, "No problem, the grass at my home is about two feet tall!"

Coke Salesman In Saudi Arabia

A disappointed salesman of Coca-Cola returned from his assignment to Saudi Arabia.

A friend asked, "Why weren't you successful with the Saudis?"

The salesman explained, "When I got posted, I was very confident that I would make a good sales pitch. But I had a problem. I didn't know how to speak Arabic. So I planned to convey the message through three posters.

1st poster : A man lying in the hot desert sand totally exhausted and fainting.

2nd poster : The man is drinking Coca-Cola.

3rd poster : Our man is now totally refreshed.

And then these posters were pasted all over the place.

"Terrific! That should have worked!" said the friend.

"The hell it should have!" said the salesman.

"No one told me they read from right to left!"

Harmful If Keep Reboiling Water?

Received email regarding the subject. Quite concerned as I also use that thermal pot which boils water and keeps the water warm. The message, also published by sinchew daily, says it is harmful to keep reboiling water, according to Singaporean pharmacist:-

A forumer refutes it, "Water is H2O. Boiling it will not change its chemical composition. Neither will reboiling it.", he said. Read more HERE.

Another says, "Water is H20. Hot water is still H20. There's no way to get a nitrate out of it.". Read more HERE.

Hypocrites Shouting For Meritocracy

DS Najib has said that chinese must vote for BN's partner to ensure continuation of chinese representation in the government. Very fair. Sarawak under Pehin Seri Taib Mahmud proves this 'meritocracy' in the last PRN Sarawak.

So no more of asking the malay voters to 'save' chinese candidate. No more putting chinese candidates in majority malay constituency. Pulau Pinang before DAP should then, have an UMNO Chief Minister. You want meritocracy, you've got it!

Don't be a hypocrite! Everybody demands it! Not just you, shouting for meritocracy only when YOU THINK you are being discriminated.
It's much like most people's complaints about the so-called UmnoPuteras, who get contracts, scholarships, positions, etc without earning them. Meritocracy. Everybody demands it.

So how long have you been using this crutch of "Tongkat Bahasa"? Even after more than 50 years of independence still cannot speak Bahasa Melayu properly? Are you really a Malaysian? Siapa Orang Malaysia tu?

In this country called Malaysia, the MOTHER of all meritocracy is this:-
  1. Rukun Negara
  2. The Federal Constitution
You embrace these two, not just only by your loud mouth, but you embrace them with your heart and soul as well! Do you speak Bahasa Melayu for a start?

You BECOME MALAYSIAN first, then you earn the FIRST COMPULSORY MERIT, to continue living in this country. Then only you can talk about all other merits of BEING A MALAYSIAN. After that, then only the Malays & Bumiputera can consider having and voting a chinese candidate in a majority Malay/Bumiputera constituency. Then only the Malay/Bumiputera can "tolerate & accept" a chinese Chief Minister in Pulau Pinang when majority seats were won by UMNO, not Gerakan or MCA.

Because they recognise you need a "Tongkat" in this respect and they can respect that as long as you embrace the Rukun Negara & Federal Constitution, recognising, for example, Article 153 of the Constitution, respecting that some Malay/Bumiputera need helps in scholarship etc. And this is even spelt out in the Constitution, unlike the chinese candidate in the majority Malay/Bumiputera constituency. That is only "Semangat Setiakawan" not a rule of law, like the Article 153 of the Constitution.

So dont be a sore hypocrite shouting meritocracy in this country when you still have not earned your merit as MALAYSIAN. The very first merit to be earned in order for your voice to have merit as Malaysian, talking about Malaysia, in this land called Malaysia. Foreigners cannot demand for a Malaysian privilege in this country.

Is it meritocracy or is it CINATOCRASY you are shouting, really?

From Fake Egg to Plastic Rice

Previous post on "black hearted goods things" from China is THIS. Before, it was the FAKE EGG. Now plastic rice?
Is China Manufacturing Plastic Rice?
From toxic toys to tainted milk, there are many reasons for people to be wary of the "Made in China" label.

But if a new story emerging from media outlets in Singapore and Hong Kong is accurate, it proves that things can always get worse.

The website Very Vietnam (and several  others) recently reported that a type of "rice" made from a combination of potatoes and plastic resin is being distributed in the Chinese town of Taiyuan, in Shaanxi province.

From the article:

"It is formed by mixing the potatoes and sweet potatoes into the shape of rice grains, then adding industrial synthetic resins. Since the rice does not behave like normal rice, it stays hard even after it has been cooked. Such synthetic resins can also be very harmful if consumed.

A Chinese Restaurant Association official said that eating three bowls of this fake rice would be like eating one plastic bag. Due to the seriousness of the matter, he added that there would be an investigation of factories alleged to be producing the rice. Meanwhile, the low cost of the fake rice is allowing wholesalers to make large profits."

The International Rice Research Institute reports that residents of Hong Kong alone consume 7 million bowls of rice every day.

While undoubtedly cheaper than growing, harvesting, and distributing actual rice, it doesn't take a health expert to see that it's probably not safe to be ingesting the equivalent of a plastic bag (or two) every day.

If it's true, this is yet another example of the risks associated with an industrial food system that cares more about quantity than quality, and profit more than people.

From 'Very Vietnam' :
China Makes Fake Rice from Plastic? Vietnam Reacts
A number of Chinese companies have been involved over the years in various scandals involving fake or tainted goods. Perhaps the most dangerous of all involve food, including the now famous 2008 milk scandal in which Chinese-made milk was found to contain the toxin melamine. The end result was 290,000 victims who fell ill and 11 suspected cases of death.

Now there are reports from Singapore media that China is mass producing fake rice, which can be potentially very dangerous.

Original Korean article from: Weekly Hong Kong
Fake Plastic Rice from China

According to the Korean-language “Weekly Hong Kong” (which many Vietnam websites are referencing as well), Singapore media claim that fake rice is being distributed in the Chinese town of Taiyuan, in Shaanxi province. This “rice” is a mix of potatoes, sweet potatoes, and plastic. It is formed by mixing the potatoes and sweet potatoes into the shape of rice grains, then adding industrial synthetic resins.

Meanwhile, the low cost of the fake rice is allowing wholesalers to make large profits.
