A Fascinating Story

A lady in a faded gingham dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun threadbare suit, stepped off the train in Boston, and walked timidly without an appointment into the president of Harvard's outer office.

The secretary could tell in a moment that such backwoods, country hicks had no business at Harvard and probably didn't even deserve to be in Cambridge.

She frowned. "We want to see the president," the man said softly. "He'll be busy all day," the secretary snapped. "We'll wait," the lady replied. For hours, the secretary ignored them, hoping that the couple would finally become discouraged and go away.

They didn't. And the secretary grew frustrated and finally decided to disturb the president, even though it was a chore she always regretted to do. "Maybe if they just see you for a few minutes, they'll leave," she told him.

And he sighed in exasperation and nodded. Someone of his importance obviously didn't have the time to spend with them, but he detested gingham dresses and homespun suits cluttering up his outer office. The president, stern-faced with dignity, strutted toward the couple.

The lady told him, "We had a son that attended Harvard for one year. He loved Harvard. He was happy here. But about a year ago, he was accidentally killed. And my husband and I would like to erect a memorial to him, somewhere on campus."

The president wasn't touched, he was shocked. "Madam," he said gruffly. "We can't put up a statue for every person who attended Harvard and died. If we did, this place would look like a cemetery".
"Oh, no," the lady explained quickly. "We don't want to erect a statue. We thought we would like to give a building to Harvard."
The president rolled his eyes. He glanced at the gingham dress and homespun suit, then exclaimed, "A building! Do you have any earthly idea how much a building costs? We have over seven and a half million dollars in the physical plant at Harvard."
For a moment the lady was silent.

The president was pleased. He could get rid of them now. And the lady turned to her husband and said quietly, "Is that all it costs to start a University? Why don't we just start our own?" Her husband nodded.

The president's face wilted in confusion and bewilderment. And Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stanford walked away, traveling to Palo Alto, California where they established the University that bears their name, a memorial to a son that Harvard no longer cared about.

Email Sharing - Caution On North-South Highway

Below was an email received for sharing and readers to take note.

Dear all (especially for those who travels a lot with north-south highway),

This is a true event! It happened to my friend, Alvin.

Alvin came all the way from JB to Selayang, KL, on a business trip. At about 12:30am, 29/4/2011, his Toyota was over-heated, he then parked at the emergency lane (KM269.9) before Seremban exit, North-South Highway. Planning to let the engine cool down, add water to the water tank and slowly drive to KL, he took his rest for a while...

A while later, a tow truck arrived to offer a helping hand. The driver is an Indian wearing a Chinese workshop jacket, estimated the towing fees and rough costing to repair the over-heating engine for about less than RM200. Both agreed, the car was towed to a workshop in Mambau. Seremban.

Yup, it's ?? ?uto??bil Enterprise !!!

Operated by a bunch of Indian. (I don't mean that all Indians are like them, I have lots of good Indian friends too.) There, the workshop boss quoted Alvin for about RM300 plus. Then he asked his workers to start dismantling the engine to inspect the gasket. He then told Alvin to come back the next day to get the car. Without any choice, Alvin left the workshop to look for a hotel nearby...

The next day, Alvin went back there to see the progress... there he waited, waited waited... started to worry, at that moment, there was a mid-age Chinese guy with his family seemed waiting for there car too. They started to find out that things are not right and the later went to the police station nearby to make a police report and came back to claim the car. He was charged RM2,800.00 for also a simple engine over-heating problem! And Alvin's bill is RM3,939 !!!

After everything was settled, he left Seremban heading back to KL...

Half way through, he had to stop at the emergency lane again because the engine was HOT again!!! Slowly he moved, stopped to cool it down, drove another few km... and so on until he reached KL. Here, the mechanic did a complete check to find out that the engine was completely doomed because "someone" purposely did something to the engine to kill it after sometime... OMG. That is so evil!!!

After digging through some blogs, it seems this workshop is actually very famous! There were many many cases with this ?? ?uto??bil Enterprise!!! What??? Is there any police in that area? Are they blind? Deaf? or dead? .... or they are some sort of "partners"??? You be the judges.

FYI, ?? ?uto??bil Enterprise is located at:

No. ?, Jalan Helang ?
Taman Industri Ringgan Mambau
70300 Seremban
H/P : 01?-26? 199? / 01?-24? 170? / 01?-996? 39?

Alvin made a police report and he went to the Hal Ehwa Pengguna Malaysia to further complain and hopefully they will take action towards these bunch of devils.

Seperti artikel JUST MY THOUGHTS, "JPA scholarships..it is not as simple as ABC get straight As and you qualify", kita juga tidak yakin bahawa pemikiran seorang Timbalan Menteri dan seorang Presiden Parti bukanlah begitu "simple" dan bertaraf "ABC".

Sila rujuk artikel ini, "NEM's Lethal Dose - The More Derserving Is Getting Less !".

Sila rujuk artikel "NEM's Lethal Dose - The More Derserving Is Getting Less !".

Akta Parlimen MARA? Siapa mereka ini? Pembangkang? Ahli sulit DAP? Memang nampak senada dengan DAP Malaysian Malaysia.
  • Ataupun, "We are Chinese...", yang rasis!

Sudah bertutur Bahasa Kebangsaan "day-in and day-out, anywhere and everywhere within the border of Malaysia with fellow Malaysians" ke?

UDA Holdings Pinggirkan Peniaga Bumiputera?

(Kenyataan Pengerusi UDA Holdngs)

Malaysia Is Not Important

Berikut adalah di antara beberapa penemuan yang agak menarik perhatian didapati daripada sebuah kajian jalanan yang telah dilakukan ke atas  107 orang cina dewasa (dipetik dari artikel "Some Chinese don’t speak Bahasa at all" oleh HORNBILL UNLEASHED) :-
"...there is a significant class in the Chinese community who only interact with those who speak Chinese."

"The Malaysian Insider street poll of 107 Chinese adults has found that 28 of them, or 26.1 per cent of those surveyed, had almost no command or could not understand Bahasa Malaysia."

"...21 per cent of them felt that knowing or using the national language was not as important in their lives as knowing Mandarin or other Chinese dialects."

Apa "Hutang" Nik Aziz Pada Anwar?

Sepatutnya Dato Nik Aziz hanya perlu menyeru seorang sahaja, iaitu DS Anwar sendiri.

A Tap On The Shoulder

A true story from the pages of the Manchester Evening Times . . .
A passenger in a taxi heading for Salford station leaned over to ask the driver a question and gently tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.

The driver screamed, lost control of the cab, nearly hit a bus, drove up over the curb and stopped just inches from a large plate window.
For a few moments everything was silent in the cab.
Then, the shaking driver said "are you OK? I'm so sorry, but you scared the daylights out of me."
The badly shaken passenger apologized to the driver and said, "I didn't realize that a mere tap on the shoulder would startle someone so badly."
The driver replied, "No, no, I'm the one who is sorry, it's entirely my fault. Today is my very first day driving a cab. I've been driving a hearse for 25 years."

Between Nation Builders & Mere Politicians

So... what happen after we heard the news... "Putrajaya is to study a proposal for a standardised school system dubbed “1School” which is set to re-ignite debate over the necessity of vernacular schools, similar to the arguments when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad initiated the Vision School to enhance unity..." ??

Anyone heard anything more ? Or we are still drowned with "Anwar's Sex Videos" while the DAP is taking the advantage of fellow christians to divide the country even more? DAP has been dividing this country along the racial line for so long. And now, with the weak government, DAP has the courage to fire up the religious sentiments among Malaysians. Another "kaldai tunggangan" is added to DAP's agenda.

I first heard the news from DINTURTLE, next was the KEMPEN SSS and followed by JUST MY THOUGHTS , THE UNSPINNERS and REPUBLIC OF MALAYA.

The news also caught the attention of WARTAWAN RASMI LAMAN REFORMASI, just a simple new reporting. But read this from a member of Parlimen of PAS. "Very intelligent" arguments from PAS huh? Ever wonder the label "Lembu Dungu"?

This one by RIGHTS2WRITE generated a lot of discussions.

Apart from those listed above, is there any other blog discussing this "news from Putrajaya"? I think bloggers are drowning too deep in Anwar's Video Sex when Anwar was about to be checkmated by the DNA findings in the Sodomy II Trial.

Anyways, when I first heard of "Putrajaya", I thought it was DS Najib, the PM.

It was not the Menteri Pelajaran either.

It was the Youth Development Lab in the Ministry of Youth and Sports who has recommended the establishment of a standardised school system called “1School” to promote unity and diversity. Beside Dato' Mukhriz, I do not hear anyone else from the gomen talking about this.

Had DS Najib positively talked about "One School", then that is indeed a news. That is indeed a very good news for nation building. But any news regarding vernacular system from DS Najib is a not a news. We all know it and very well aware about it, I guess. It is just a mere politician talking, not for nation building but more or less, for getting chinese votes.

No reason to jump for joy yet. The journey of Kempen SSS toward One School is indeed a long and perilous one, especially with the presence of Bapak Vernakular.

Battle of Sexes 15 - Men are From Mars...

We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side.

1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us griping about you leaving it down.

2. Birthdays, Valentines, and Anniversaries are not quests to see if we can find the perfect present yet again!

3. Sometimes we are not thinking about you. Live with it.

4. Sunday = sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

5. Don't cut your hair. Ever. Long hair is always more attractive than short hair. One of the big reasons guys fear getting married is that married women always cut their hair, and by then you're stuck with her.

6. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

7. Crying is blackmail.

8. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

9. We don't remember dates. Mark birthdays and anniversaries on a calendar. Remind us frequently beforehand.

10. Most guys own three pairs of shoes - tops. What makes you think we'd be any good at choosing which pair, out of thirty, would look good with your dress?

11. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

12. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

13. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.

14. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.

15. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us. We refuse to answer.

16. If something we said can be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

17. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

18. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

19. Christopher Columbus did not need directions, and neither do we.

20. The relationship is never going to be like it was the first two months we were going out. Get over it. And quit whining to your girlfriends.

21. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

22. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

23. We are not mind readers and we never will be. Our lack of mind-reading ability is not proof of how little we care about you.

24. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

25. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.

26. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine. Really.

27. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as navel lint, the shotgun formation, or monster trucks.

28. You have enough clothes.

29. You have too many shoes.

30. Foreign films are best left to foreigners. (Unless it's Bruce Lee or some war flick where it doesn't really matter what they're saying anyway.)

31. It is neither in your best interest or ours to take the quiz together. No, it doesn't matter which quiz.

32. I am in shape. ROUND is a shape.

33. Thank you for reading this; Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight, but did you know we really don't mind that, it's like camping.

Kind Loyar

One afternoon, a wealthy lawyer was riding in the back of his limousine when he saw two men eating grass by the road side. He ordered his driver to stop and he got out to investigate.

Why are you eating grass?" he asked one man.

We don't have any money for food." the poor man replied.

Oh, come along with me then."

But sir, I have a wife with two children!"

Bring them along! And you, come with us too!", he said to the other man.

But sir, I have a wife with six children!" the second man answered.

Bring them as well!"

They all climbed into the car, which was no easy task, even for a car as large as the limo. Once underway, one of the poor fellows says, "
Sir, you are too kind. Thank you for taking all of us with you."

The lawyer replied, "No problem, the grass at my home is about two feet tall!"

Coke Salesman In Saudi Arabia

A disappointed salesman of Coca-Cola returned from his assignment to Saudi Arabia.

A friend asked, "Why weren't you successful with the Saudis?"

The salesman explained, "When I got posted, I was very confident that I would make a good sales pitch. But I had a problem. I didn't know how to speak Arabic. So I planned to convey the message through three posters.

1st poster : A man lying in the hot desert sand totally exhausted and fainting.

2nd poster : The man is drinking Coca-Cola.

3rd poster : Our man is now totally refreshed.

And then these posters were pasted all over the place.

"Terrific! That should have worked!" said the friend.

"The hell it should have!" said the salesman.

"No one told me they read from right to left!"
