AirAsia - Syarikat Penerbangan Tambang Murah

UPDATE 2
Malaysia Airlines learned about the unfortunate situation of Izan and Maryam from Tourism Malaysia. As it is a standard procedure for all passengers with symptoms of contagious disease to get a fit-to-fly certification from a doctor, Malaysia Airlines made the decision to take Maryam Sofea to a doctor. This is to ensure that no one passenger puts the health of another passenger at risk.

As such, Malaysia Airlines staff picked up Izan and her baby from the hotel they were staying in to be brought to the clinic. The doctor examined the baby and confirmed that she was no longer contagious. It was said that she was out of the incubation period and that the black spots are actually just dry scabs.

Immediately after that, Malaysia Airlines worked on preparing the travel documents for Izan, Maryam and two other relatives. They were booked onto flight MH759 that departed Ho Chi Minh yesterday itself so that they would not have to spend another night in Saigon and incur more costs.

If Airlines Were Based on Operating Systems

UNIX Airways

Everyone brings one piece of the plane along when they come to the airport.

They all go out on the runway and put the plane together piece by piece,

Arguing nonstop about what kind of plane they are supposed to be building.

Air DOS

Everybody pushes the airplane until it glides, then they jump on and let the plane coast until it hits the ground again. Then they push again, jump on again, and so on.

Mac Airlines

All the stewards, captains, baggage handlers, and ticket agents look and act exactly the same.

Every time you ask questions about details, you are gently but firmly told that you don't need to know, don't want to know, and everything will be done for you without your ever having to know, so just shut up.

Windows Air

The terminal is pretty and colorful, with friendly stewards, easy baggage check and boarding, and a smooth takeoff. After about 10 minutes in the air, the plane explodes with no warning whatsoever.

Windows NT Air

Just like Windows Air, but costs more, uses much bigger planes, and takes out all the other aircraft within a 40-mile radius when it explodes.

Linux Air

Disgruntled employees of all the other OS airlines decide to start their own airline.

They build the planes and ticket counters, and pave the runways themselves.

They charge a small fee to cover the cost of printing the ticket, but you can also download and print the ticket yourself. When you board the plane, you are given a seat, four bolts, a wrench, and a copy of the seat-HOWTO.HTML.

Once settled, the fully adjustable seat is very comfortable, the plane leaves and arrives on time without a single problem, the in-flight meal is wonderful. You try to tell customers of the other airlines about the great trip, but all they can say is, "You had to do what with the seat?"

AirAsia

So "CHEAP" that passengers lose their money due to frequent flight postponements and delays, stranded with no refund, strict charge for "excess" baggage, SPOILED fee, hide-and-seek costs, etc. Now, everyone can get screwed.

MAS

Everybody including themselves are being screwed up left-right-center

Hangpa semua boleh kena liwat !

Now that the MAS-AirAsia share swap deal is off... finally! Why the deal was allowed to go through/inked in the first place? Was it the case of "buat kerja cincai", not in-depth study or was it a "cunning" in-depth looting scheme with most devious and dishonourable intentions in the background? What do you think will happen if this fiasco is no where near PRU?

Before we all jump for joy partying, do read what OUTSYED THE BOX has to say about this so called "Great Rescue" of MAS...

This is not "cooperation" ok. MAS will eventually rescue Air Asia by buying Air Asia's 200 Airbuses which have no where to fly. MAS must provide engineering, ground support services, cargo services, catering and training services for Air Asia which does not even own a screw driver to maintain their aircraft. It is money out of MAS' pocket into Air Asia's pocket - now through the clever and devious mechanism of "JV"

Folks, this means Air Asia will get to use MAS' pilot training simulators almost  for free. Why? Because now there will be a JV company between MAS and Air Asia for pilot training, infrastructure - use of ground equipment, mobile airbridges etc.  Hutang lambat bayar pun takpa mah..sekarang sudah ada JV.

They will also get to use MAS maintenance support and repair services also almost for free. Why? Because there will be a JV company between MAS and Air Asia for maintenance services.  Bayar hutang lama sikit pun takpa mah..sekarang sudah ada JV.

And what is the consideration for MAS to enter a JV with AA for pilot training, aircraft maintenance, spare parts, procurement and so on? MAS has pilot training simulators, AA has none. MAS has maintenance, AA has none.  MAS has infra, AA has none.  MAS has screw drivers, AA has none. So what does AA give MAS in return for entering into a JV.  Can you all see who is being suckered here?

Well... as OUTSYED THE BOX puts it... "Folks, MAS means taxpayers money ok.", the fight is not over yet for MAS...

Prostituting others..

To many, Malaysia Airlines is a one-stop agency for AirAsia to fully prostitute for their ultimate pleasure, at any time of their convenience.

Countless of blog postings were made. UMNO leaders spoke against it in closed party dos. MPs, which include BN backbenchers, even strongly raised against it in the Dewan Rakyat.

The popular belief is that it has fallen to deaf ears to the Federal Government. As more abuses are being imposed against Malaysia Airlines for AirAsia’s benefit, many analyst are getting worried that Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak is either ignoring the matter for the time being or procastinanting the decision, which has yet shown any positive effect on and for Malaysia Airlines.

Can somebody explain why we are "killing" MAS?

Last time, it was someone I know who shared his experience with AirAsia. Read it again HERE. Now, this... an article "cilok" from APA.

Strolling with Tony F and AirAsia X...

Air Asia hospitality includes scamming its passengers with its DISHONEST Low Cost strategy

Air Asia is a Low Cost Carrier (LCC) that comes with LOW CARE CONSULTANCY (LCC) strategy. On its certain routes, they bully their weaker passengers who are just law-abiding passengers. Read here by Malaysia Chronicle.

On 29 December 2011, a Malaysian family were traveling with their infant on Air Asia X and here’s the story written by one of Air Asia X’s passengers.

Yatiechomeyl.blogspot.jp wrote :
I took Air Asia X flight on my way back to Malaysia last month because I’ve been wanting to fly with Air Asia X in order to support our own Low Cost Carrier company. I have experienced quite a bad flight journey with their staff and customer service.

I was thinking to share it in my blog so that friends and family (especially those who travels with baby/child) that are going to use Air Asia X in the future; are well-prepared to face the same condition that I’ve went through. So for those who are interested to know about my experience, kindly read this letter of complaint from me to Air Asia X.

Mr Tony Fernandes
CEO, Air Asia
LCC Terminal, Jalan KLIA S3, Southern Support Zone
Kuala Lumpur International Airport 64000 Sepang,
Selangor Darul Ehsan
19 November 2011

Dear Mr Tony,
I was a passenger on one of your flight (together with my son and my sister in law) from Tokyo Haneda (HND) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) on 17th November 2011 (Flight D7 523). Forgive me for writing directly to you, but I feel you personally need to know exactly how badly your customers were treated by your front-line staff so you can take appropriate remedial action.

(1) Before On-Board
My rough experiences with your staff begin at the check-in counter. I was told that I can’t bring my child’s stroller up to the aircraft door/steps. I used to fly with several other airlines to go to Malaysia such as Malaysia Airlines (MAS), Korea Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Thai Airways before this and all of these airlines allow me to bring my child’s stroller up to the aircraft door/steps for international flight.

I have even checked in the Air Asia website, and it is stated that “You can continue to use the stroller up to the aircraft door/steps”. So I told your counter staff politely about it, and then they look at my son and told me that “he can walk, he don’t need a stroller”. If it is so, why I couldn’t find any clause in your website stating that as one of the criteria to bring along the stroller?.

Then your ‘not-so-friendly’ counter staff insisted that I checked in the stroller as luggage and pay for the extra weight caused by check-in the stroller. Again I remembered that I’ve check about it in your website and it is stated that “we allow baby buggies/strollers/prams to be carried free of charge”. When I told this politely to the counter staff, she replied with irritating voice and says “Either you pay or you throw it!“.

So in the end I was ‘forced’ to pay extra 9kg which cost me 18000 yen (2000 yen per kg) as I don’t want to throw away my child’s brand new Recaro stroller. *18 000yen = RM 735*

Malaysiaairlinesfamilies comments The international airlines standard does not charge the baby stroller for its passengersThis is a scam business strategy by Tony Fernandez and his gangsters. A decent refund should be made available for this family.

After that my family and I was waiting patiently to be on board into the flight D7 523 when the delay announcement was announced due to bad weather. These things happen, I do not complain about the weather as I do understand that some things are beyond anyone’s control. After all, a flight delay case has become one of Air Asia’s ‘trademarks’; so I’m fine with that.

Malaysiaairlinesfamilies comments : It’s very true that “Flight Delay is Air Asia’s trademark”and we received reliable information on Air Asia & Air Asia X’s scams and fraudulent practice which now includes all flights to be delayed especially from KLCCT if the aircraft has not filled with 90% of passengers. This leaves Air Asia & Air Asia X’s passengers would be experiencing a “further and forever DELAY flight status in their itinerary”. However, we believe a few of Air Asia’s routes will pressure Tony Fernandez and his gangsters to turnaround those flights real quick without delays because of their defaulted payment in MRO services (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul). Again, this has a safety implication and may be affecting Air Asia’s passengers’ safety. We urge the International regulators should step in immediately scrutinizing Air Asia and Air Asia X’s MRO status in certain country and its defaulted payment worldwide that could cause a major air traffic disasters. This is where Air Asia & Air Asia X has collaborated with Malaysia Airlines via CCF (Comprehensive Collaboration Framework) where in actuality, it is to save Air Asia & Air Asia X from cutting out more of its routes. We call upon the Singapore regulators to enforce its Civil Aviation law on all Air Asia’s flights for its “trademark” quick-turnaround flights that may compromise the ground safety rules.

(2) On the plane
After getting on board, we were greeted by ‘not-so-friendly’ cabin crews. Is it that hard for them to smile to your customers?. The plane is ready to take-off, things are going well. I thought so far so good but this is what happened next :

Sticky chewing-gum on the in-flight sales magazine; tell me how can I browse through the pages and buying the items when I feel gross to turn over to the next pages?. Aren’t your staffs are supposed to check the magazine before putting it into the pocket?.

On the back page of the magazine where the “QR Reader code” is displayed was crumpled. Tell me how am I supposed to scan it with my iPhone when it is in that condition?

I pre-booked meal in my ticket booking but I don’t know whether a drink is provided with the meal. So I asked politely to the cabin crew and she replied with annoying voice and says “we only give mineral water!”. Is it that difficult for your cabin crew to reply politely to your customer? Can’t she just tell me nicely if I want drinks, I have to pay for it as you only provided mineral water? I don’t mind to pay for the drinks but I do mind paying for a flight ticket that gives me bad customer service.

(3) After landed at KLCCT
We arrived at LCCT airport, Kuala Lumpur at 6.30 a.m. for parents travelling with baby and toddler; we will usually encounter several difficulties to handle our child as they were already tired during the long haul journey, jet lag due to time difference, hungry baby and it all end up with one grumpy little child.

That’s when a stroller become the ultimate aid as we can put our child on it and hang our carry-on bags to the stroller and then only we can proceed to comfort the child.

Unfortunately I am not able to comfort my son after the long flight journey because this is what happened next
:

I have to focus on carrying the hand luggage down the steps in front of the aircraft door; went up the steps again to get my child and all of these are done without any help from your cabin crew or your ground staff.
We have to walk on the airport pavement for 1-2 km as the plane was parked far away from the terminal door. I have to carry my hand luggage and carry my son and walk quite far; what a great early morning exercise. I was thinking, “wouldn’t it be nice if I have my child’s stroller with me so that I don’t have to carry my 12kg son on my hip and carry my 7kg luggage on my hand as well as carrying 3kg laptop bag on my shoulder?”.

It is quite dangerous walking on the airport pavement near to the taxiway and runway with my child; what with the airplane around; with the ground equipment stuffs are all over the place; with the runway transport and luggage transport moving here and there without any gate barrier or even a mobile temporary gate along the walk from the plane to the terminal door.

What make it even more dangerous is that only one staff is showing the right way to go while your other ground staffs seems very busy talking to each other on the drama episodes they watch last night (I overheard them talking). It will be much safer if I can put my son on his stroller. In the end, even if my child can already walk I still have to carry him on my hip because I don’t want to be worried that he might be hit by the ground transport on the airport pavement while walking/running on the runway.

(4) At the terminal – KLCCT
I picked up my luggage and headed through the arrival gate. But before that, I went to toilet but unfortunately I am not being able to do anything there because the toilet inside the terminal is too dirty and smells so bad.

I went to baby room to change my son’s diaper and the same condition occurs at the baby room. The room is smelly and soaked with disposable diapers all over the place because the bin is full. Like it or not, I have to change my child’s diapers and bring home my son’s soaked disposable diapers.

These bad experiences with your flight and airport services leave me with this 6 questions:

Does Air Asia X have any protocol in place for staff to follow the information provided in your website and also to treat your polite customers nicely?

If you do have a protocol, does the response I describe above fit with it? In particular are your staffs allowed to ask passenger to make payment for the items that are free to check in and direct passengers to make the payment rather than help them nicely?

Can I get the refund on the payment that I have been ‘forced’ to make for my child’s stroller?.

Do you condone staff rudeness to passengers, and are they ever allowed to replied impolitely to the request made politely by the passenger?

Why is it that the information given in your website is not so useful as it is not the same with the one at the check-in counter?

Do you consider it is safe for the passengers to walk on the airport pavement without even putting clear signs on which way to go, or putting any barrier to show the limits to the boundary area that passenger can’t step in?

I am waiting for the answers to these questions because the experiences that I encounter during my flight with you are totally different with what you promised in your website. One of Air Asia X values is to offer “Low Fare, No Frills: Providing guests with the choice of customizing services without compromising on quality and services”.

Unfortunately, as your passenger, I feel that your quality of customer service and safety is quite bad. I would like to know if in addition to being a low-cost airline, Air Asia X is a low-service airline and a low-courtesy airline. If it is, I will make my future travel choices accordingly, and ensure that my friends and family do likewise.

I await your response.

Yours faithfully;
A frustrated D7 523 passengers.

Malaysiaairlinesfamilies sympathizes with your predicament having had to endure such soul-destroying journey with Air Asia X and we thank you for sharing your bad experience with Air Asia.
We plead to consumers to continue expressing their low-quality experience with Air Asia exposing their scams bullying the public with its devious (DISHONEST) low cost strategy.

Stay tune to malaysiaairlinesfamilies for more insights on How Tony Fernandez gets to KILL MAS workers? Refund from AirAsia? How about high telephone charges (as claimed by many) when we call up AirAsia to state the case? How about SPOILAGE CHARGE instead of refund?

A Choice of "Not to choose"

If you ever made luggage booking with AirAsia, unintentionally "over" booked, that is... "TER"-booking..., then leave it be. Do not try to down grade it. Unless of course you want to upgrade, in which case, AirAsia will certainly welcome it since it will mean more "money" to them.

Read the "TER"-booking incident here:-

Experiment Bodoh Dengan Air Asia

Not only the customer lost THE ALREADY PAID extra kg when he down-graded it, he was also CHARGED a so-called "spoilage" fee resulting a "no refund" from AirAsia.

(EL-CHEAPO)

Do you think this is a "civilised" business practiced here? I think, even though AirAsia may want to refuse any refund when the customer made a mistake in his booking, it is more "civilised" for AirAsia to caution the customer CLEARLY before hand that "no refund will be made in case you down grade". But instead, AirAsia seems to "silently" charge "a spoilage fee" - a fee realised by the customer only after event.  Looks like only "an excuse" of not wanting to give any refund.

I say, a "civilised" business practise will not charge a customer when an unintentional mistake was done ESPECIALLY when the booking in AirAsia website is quite CONFUSING, as claimed by many!!!

I tend to agree when some say that booking air ticket with AirAsia can be a quite confusing experience. You better take your time when doing the booking, do not rush, otherwise, only after payment that you may realise your seat is actually "defaulted" to an RM30 optional cost, when you actually do not mind a random seat in the first place. This is one thing, but do you think that this is a "respected" business practice? What if in case of a family? Surely a family would want the members to sit close together, would it not? In this case, the family is FORCED to choose seats and therefore a forced option!! Is this fair after paying the flight tickets? I think this is "disrespectful" business practice. But MAS seems to follow the same "disrespectful" practice of late!!!

Compare the AirAsia business practice to the one I myself experienced many many years ago in USA. I ran out of blank video tape. So I went searching for one in a superstore/hypermarket.. forgot the name.. was it Walmart? Yes I found one, but the package stated, "for NTSC system". I knew our TV system was "PAL" but I was not sure whether my video camera could use an "NTSC system" tape. I asked the customer service rep there and of course, not an expert in video-system himself, he said, "Go ahead and test it. See if it works".
I said, "You mean... I open this package and go ahead actually record something out of it? What if, it does not work?"

He said, "Well.. bring it back with the purchase receipt. We'll refund you on the spot. You should not be paying for something that you cannot use."
I remember his last sentence till to-date! Now compare how "respectful" the business practice was with the one of AirAsia!.

Yes, to me, it is confusing when one has to un-tick to say "no" and in another instance, "tick" to say "yes". I had (website) booking experiences with RyanAir and EasyJet, two foreign low cost carriers. It still stick to my mind, the incredible (seasonal) offer price by RyanAir was the exact price I saw and PAID for, inclusive of everything (fuel charge, processing charge, etc) i.e. no other hidden charges after confirming the booking. It was not a confusing booking experience with EasyJet where it was all tick to say "yes" (un-tick to cancel) in case you opt for some optionals. And I dont remember in both cases, RyanAir and EasyJet, that I had to pay extra when choosing my seats. When booking with AirAsia, the feeling I get is - AirAsia tries to "trick" you for your "money" as long as you are not careful enough. Therefore, it is advisable for you not to be in a "hurry" when making a booking at AirAsia website. Do take it slowly, carefully, review your booking processes until you are clear with what you want before hitting the "confirm" button. And also be prepared for other charges not mentioned when making the booking, to be included later in the final ticket price. That is AirAsia for you.

(Our education system "creativity" vision)

Is this what you call "creativity"? Come on TS Muhyiddin! Is this the kind of people you invite to be the panelist on your education panel, imparting "creativity" to our young children? What creativity? Creativity of how to do "the trick"? Of  how to become a tricky money monster?

And for MAS, are you becoming "el-cheapo" too when you start to charge customer for choosing their seats? Oh I forgot.. some of AirAsia men are in your boardroom now..Thought MAS is re-branding itself as "premium airlines" which is surely not an "el-cheapo". "El-cheapo" here is not "competitive in ticket pricing" but doing business so "cheaply", swelling your bank account by bankrupting your moral.

BTW, someone in airline industry told me once - "AirAsia pilots have to bring their own meals into the cockpit.  Inside a plastic bag!! (as they were not accorded meals by their employer)". Is this true?! Can anyone confirm this? AirAsia pilots??!!

Read OUTSIDE THE BOX piece here, "Tony Fernandez Take Over MAS".

Years ago MAS was made to give up some of their remote routes in Sabah/Sarawak. Not only that, MAS had to refurbish some aircrafts for AirAsia to operate with. (Go to ..LISTED!!! and click on the search label "MAS" to read the exact stories from many bloggers). MAS, whom was earlier "robbed" some routes, ended with cannibalised aircraft when AirAsia handed back the "business" over to MAS due to unprofitable issue?

Today, MAS was again "robbed" of some routes, this time no longer "remote" routes but include some international routes as well! Reading OUTSIDE THE BOX piece above, it looks like AirAsia is heading for some serious "unprofitable issue" again? Now what? Handing MAS with some "committed bookings of hundreds of air buses costing in region of 50 billions? And AirAsia men are watching QPR playing soccer (courtesy of MAS coffer?) in a not so "famous" match, as famous as MU?

What is really going on here in our airlines industry? Apa nak jadi dengan negara ini??

Since our leader is talking about liberalisation, why not liberalise our airlines industry as well? Let MAS (and AirAsia) becomes private business, NO LONGER involving tax-payers money! Gomen stay out of MAS, stay out of AirAsia! less tax-payer money goes to the drain! And allow SIA, ThaiAirways, Royal Brunei, KLM, Emirate, Ittihad etc operate our local routes, as well!!! Let RyanAir and EasyJet to come in too if they want to operate our KLIA-KBR route!

If MAS does not want to care about themselves, letting AirAsia "sodomising" them each and every way, then why should we all care? If it is their money, then let them "sodomise" each other, till deaths, who cares? The problem is, it is the tax-payer money. The problem with politicians is, they put our money to where their mouths are!

Let all other airlines in the world come in to even operate our local routes! At least we have a choice of NOT TO CHOOSE AirAsia. The logo below already says so, "X to AirAsia".

("NO" to AirAsia?)

Raping MAS to death

The below 'snipet' is due to be published later in the afternoon for regular visitors at ...LISTED!!!. This piece below extracted from recent A VOICE's article, a must read for all Malaysians who are concerned with the "cannibalisation and plundering" of our national icon, MAS.

There are more shocking articles about this issue by JEBAT MUST DIE, BIG DOG and many others, especially by WEE CHOO KEONG who has been highlighting the MAS-AirAsia share "SUAP" since months back.

Do visit ...LISTED!!!, and click/search on "MAS" tag/label, to read the collection of articles (currently over 70 articles) by bloggers concerning this issue.

A VOICE

Tony to Azman, "Great job!"

  • ....the Wide Unbundling of Asset proposal (WAU) by Binafikir was never their's....... the WAU proposal was almost a carbon copy of a proposal given to the then Minister of Finance, Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim sometimes in mid-90s  ....Unfortunately, Anwar Ibrahim was too dumb to understand the proposal....
  • The promise that the share swap between MAS and Air Asia could raise money for MAS was all bull and was to put wool on the eyes of the public.
  • This is the same mistake repeatedly made by Khazanah in their past turnaround plans of MAS. Profitable routes given away, cut capacity for potential business and growth, and now selling profitable asset.
  • if this is how the deal goes, public outcry will be loud. The public knows that MAS is being cannibalised by corrupted politicians and businessmen.
  • That is the reason behind the grand design to blame MAS losses of RM8 billion to Tajuddin Ramli. Someone else gets the blame, while Pak Lah, Khairy, Nor Yakcop, Tony F, Kalimullah and many others rape MAS to death.
  • Whoever the blame be made to, Najib must step in and stop listening to brother Nazir. Otherwise, BN could lose quite number of votes ...for sure.

Mereka belum puas menyodom...

MAS tenat (mereka yang hebohkan)

Kononnya WAU dapat memulihkan MAS. Kelentong aje.

The plot?

Taja M.U. you!

WEE CHOO KEONG
"Updated @ 9:55 pm on 20-9-2011: MAS has terminated its service KLIA – Bandung – KLIA as from 4-10-2011. Please visit the MAS website and see for yourself in HERE. This is another profitable route that has been terminated by this whizz kid En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof and his management team. The profitable routes of JB – KK & Kuching – JB were also terminated from 15-9-2011. During the recent Hari Raya season, several Firefly full load flights were also cancelled. The new Managing Director should now reviewed all decisions taken by this whizz kid Rashdan and his management team. He should immediately stop this whizz kid Rashdan from running “amok” in MAS before its too late.   "
