How to prevent mosquitoes lay eggs, 

cheapest way of preventing survival of mosquitoes.

We cannot stop mosquitoes lay eggs at any stagnant water in drains/ponds or water collected in waste pails, tanks, tins, used tyres etc. etc. Of course if you have fish inside the tanks/containers then there should be no problem. Do you know that there is a very simple and very economical way to destroy the mosquitoes' eggs and not let them hatch into larvae. Very simple, just put in few 1 cent copper coins into the tanks/containers then it will solve all your problems. Because in accordance to Japanese Research Scientists, they found the mosquitoes eggs will be destroyed by a kind of mineral discharge from the copper. DON'T BELIEVE, Try it by yourself and even the small snails also will not visit the containers (with copper coins) collected with stagnant water. You will observe the water collected in the containers will be very clean and clear..

Astro tak ambil pot untuk ingkar arahan kabinet? Sebab kabinet....mmmmm...

Sejak dua bulan lepas (Julai & Ogos) jumlah caj yang tertera di bill Astro memaparkan kenaikan harga. Betul ke Astro dah tarik balik kenaikan caj ini? Sila rujuk tulisan HOUSE PK yang diterbitkan pada Jun lepas:-

Baiklah... sedikit history berkenaan bill Astro..

Sebelum tahun 2011, jumlah cas bill Astro adalah RM86.95. Belum ada lagi caj "Government Service Tax (6%)" yang tertera di bill ketika itu.

 

Bermula Januari 2011, caj "Government Service Tax (6%)" bersamaan RM5.22 mula dikenakan. Jumlah caj sejak Januari tahun ini adalah RM86.95 (caj asal) + RM5.20 (cukai yang di round-off) berjumlah RM92.15 :-

Sila rujuk artikel HOUSE PK di atas di mana postingnya diterbit pada bulan Jun 2011. Astro mula mengenakan caj baru (kenaikan caj sebanyak lebihkurang RM1.00) bermula pada bill bulan Julai 2011. Jumlah caj yang dinaikkan adalah RM93.25, kenaikan sebanyak RM1.10 daripada jumlah caj bulan sebelumnya.

TIADA PENARIKAN kenaikan caj seperti yang tertera di bill terkini, Ogos 2011, di atas. Adalah diyakini, sehari dua lagi apabila bill bulan September diterima, ianya akan memaparkan jumlah caj yang sama, iaitu RM93.25.

MANA DIA PENARIKAN BALIK CAJ YANG DI WAR-WAR KAN ITU??

Inilah yang susahnya bila tiada siapa "dibenarkan" untuk compete dengan Astro secara efektif. Mana perginya MegaTV dan lain-lain dulu? 

Pilihan yang ada adalah samada kita melanggan Astro ataupun tidak. Satu pilihan yang agak sukar untuk dibuat oleh kaki-kaki bola yang mengikuti Sport Channel, anak-anak kecil yang suka kepada Upin dan Ipin, muatan kartun di Disney dll dan juga suri-suri rumah yang mengikuti drama-drama kegemaran masing-masing.

TM agak membuka mata apabila melancarkan UniFi. Tetapi alahai.... bila UniFi akan dapat dinikmati secara meluas? Wawasan 2020? Transformasi 1-Malaysia 4040?

Saya agak terkejut apabila ipar saya menggunakan broadband untuk capaian internetnya di rumahnya. "Kenapa tak guna Streamyx?" Soal saya.

Dia jawab "Tiada fixed line!".

Ipar saya sebelum ini menyewa rumah di kawasan Puchong (ada talian telefon TM). Kemudian dia berpindah ke rumahnya sendiri yang baru siap dibina oleh pemaju di kawasan Puchong juga, yang tak sampai pun 10 km dari tempat dia menyewa. Beratus-ratus penghuni rumah baru di situ masih belum dapat menikmati talian fixed line TM lagi hingga sekarang!!! Sudah masuk tahun ke-2 dah kawasan perumahan itu dihuni. Ianya bukan kawasan perumahan dalam hutan tebal, mind you!!

Alahai, kalau beginilah agresifnya TM dalam bisnes, mereka-mereka yang sudah tidak sabar-sabar untuk membuang Astro ke dalam longkang dan bertukar kepada UniFi hanya dapat mewasiatkan kepada cucu cicit keturunan ke 7 la nampaknya untuk beralih daripada Astro kepada UniFi.

Bill Gates and General Motors (GM)

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, 'If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon.'

In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash....... ..Twice a day.
2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.
3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.
4. Occasionally, executing a manoeuvre such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.
5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.
6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single 'This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation' warning light.

I love the next one!!!

• The airbag system would ask 'Are you sure?' before deploying.
• Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.
• Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.
• You'd have to press the 'Start' button to turn the engine off.

PS - I'd like to add that when all else fails, you could call 'customer service' in some foreign country and be instructed in some foreign language how to fix your car yourself!!!! Malaysians can call the "1-Malaysia People First" customer service line to listen to instructions, all in Mandarin, the official language of the People's Republic of China.

NEVER LAUGH AT A CHINESE

A Chinese man walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the loan officer. He tells the loan officer that he is going to China on business for two weeks and needs to borrow $5,000.

The bank officer tells him that the bank will need some form of security for the loan, so the Chinese man hands over the keys to a new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank. He produces the title and everything checks out.

The Loan officer agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan.

The bank's president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the Chinese for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral against a $5,000 loan.

An employee of the bank then drives the Ferrari into the bank's underground garage and parks it there.

Two weeks later, the Chinese returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41.

The loan officer says, "Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multi-millionaire. What puzzles us is why you would bother to borrow $5,000?"

 

The Chinese replies: "Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there safely when I return."

Cukai dikutip oleh siapa?

Maaf, saya kurang faham.

"Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak  meminta syarikat-syarikat telekomunikasi mengkaji semula tindakan mereka  untuk mengenakan cukai perkhidmatan sebanyak enam peratus kerana ia  membebankan pengguna." kata blogger 1 MALAYSIA (KLIK)

Bukankah cukai akan dikutip oleh Kerajaan? Kenapa DS Najib meminta syarikat-syarikat telekomunikasi mengkaji perkara ini? Kenapa tidak diminta Kementerian Kewangan dan Kementerian terbabit untuk mengkajinya kerana ia membabitkan pengutipan cukai?

Siapa yang kutip "service tax" akhirnya?

The Malaysia Government service tax increased from 5% to 6% starting Jan 1 this year. While the increase is only 1%, why are the Telcos planning to pass down the whole 6% to consumers? (MALAYSIAN WIRELESS)

Kerajaan tetap akan dapat cukai 6 % tersebut samada diserap oleh syarkat  atau dipindah kepada pengguna. Semakin banyak orang guna pra bayar, maka semakin banyak kerajaan dapat cukai. Semakin tinggilah pendapatan negara dari sumber cukai. - COKAM

Komen-komen rakyat negara seperti di bawah ini amatlah kita dihargai, yang ingin kita semua baca apabila ada seseorang yang bergelar "YB" cuba bermain api yang akhirnya memudaratkan perpaduan kaum serta keharmonian negara.

Beginikah perilaku seorang "YB" yang diangkat oleh sebilangan pengundi? Apa kata rakan sebantal DAP - "Lebai-Lebai PAS" - mengenai perkara ini?

PRU semakin dekat. Pilihlah calon-calon yang bersemangat kebangsaan demi negara. "Kerana Mu Malaysia". Kita SATU Bangsa, SATU Negara, SATU BAHASA.

This is something I like to share with you from one of my seminar recently. If you find this informative, please circulate. It was conducted by A/P Catherine Tay on Legal issues in E-commerce.

 

Notice that most of the time, the receipt/invoice you received from the merchant carries this exclusion clause or similarly worded statement: 'Goods sold are not returnable' or 'No refund once sold'.
 

The thing that I have learnt from her is that : As long as your good is purchased for home use and not for business ( i.e. to be resold), the above exclusion clause is VOID.
 

That means, as long as the good is defective, regardless of what is worded, you CAN get back all your money spent. You do not have to accept a repair on the good or an exchange. You CAN ask for a refund. AND you are LEGALLY right and entitled to! What a relevation!! 

And most of the time the merchant will refuse to return you your money. 

Her advice?

From her own experience (and no less than 7 and all successful!), she will threaten the merchant with four words: 'SEE YOU IN COURT!' 

The court here refers to the Small Claims Tribunal Court.

However, you don't have to tell them what court! All you have to pay is RM10 admin fee and the merchant will have to refund you the money PLUS the admin fee!
 

She shared this with us because she felt that even educated people are cowed by such unfair wordings (which includes her jaded friends who are not lawyers). 

Please try not to let the merchant fleece you the next time you have a defective good.
